Pontotoc Animal Welfare Society (P.A.W.S.) was established in 1982 as a nonprofit organization with the mission of sheltering lost and unwanted animals until a new permanent and loving home could be found. Last year P.A.W.S. had almost 2,000 animals come through its doors. It has become very costly to provide appropriate care to the animals that are housed at the shelter. It is only through the generous donations of members of the community and from fundraising events that P.A.W.S. is able to keep its doors open every year.
The Get Your P.A.W.S. Moving 5K event was established to ensure that P.A.W.S. can continue providing its low cost spay/neuter program to the community and appropriately vaccinate and provide preventive treatment for all our animals.
